Oh, my giddy God, things just keep getting better and I think I may have almost cracked the MYSTERY about the recordings of Clunk Click in 1974. Firstly, let me show you a calender from February onwards
Now, remember Jones has told MWT that only some CC episodes survive. More specifically, he confirms that Gary Glitter only appeared ONCE (meaning MWT should have known that Fiona was lying but I'll come back to that later) on an episode dated 16th March 1974. Broadcast date that is ! because these sloppy reporters couldn't be bothered to establish the date the relevant shows were recorded.
I started this post yesterday but have changed it completely now. WHY ? because today Jimmy himself has told me on camera about Clunk Click from February to April 6th 1974.
You see, I tried a new tack, I went looking for Olivia Newton John as a guest on the show. Thinking I'd find recording dates, I went one better, I found that there was at least ONE week where the show was NOT broadcast. Here listen to Jimmy he will explain

Thank God for sites like 'missing episodes' because without them I would NOT have found the above video containing all FOUR appearances and the crucial information Jimmy provides. Maybe the reason the 2nd February broadcast did NOT go ahead was because of this

Back to Olivia's songs, Jim tells us that the contest itself will be broadcast on the 6th. He doesn't say 6th April but that's when it was broadcast. He proudly confirms that we are the host nation and Brighton will be the venue. Now, here's where I need your help guys and gals ! The 6th April was a Saturday night. Can I assume that Clunk Click was NOT broadcast that night because of the contest ? Does anyone have the telly listings for that night ? Because, if it wasn't, would this mean that that one of the shows recorded in March would NOT have aired until April ?

Good Gracious me, I'm so excited about my latest find, I can hardly type. Here's how it goes, I'm going through ALL those files that were put online including Savile's expenses etc and I find that there are hardly any documents relating to the Cluck Click program. There are 3 lots of files called Vol 1,2 and three containing HUNDREDS of pages about Savile's pay, contract etc but here's the few that mention Clunk Click. In Vol 2

Now, it could be that the BBC did NOT for good reasons, release any potentially sensitive information about this particular show or the period in question. It could be that the person/s who made the FOI request from which these documents have been copied, has not bothered to upload these, so let's establish a few FACTS shall we ?

Now, some of us have been aware of these 'files' for some time and have used them in our blogs several times. But, knowing what we now know (or don't) especially in relation to the show on which Freddie Starr appeared, I thought I'd go through ALL of these files again to see WHEN it was recorded. No luck on that front I'm afraid, but what it led me to, is. A shocking fact that Meirion Jones actually planned to use Karin Ward's allegations about Freddie Starr in his Newsnight film !
You see, when Karin Ward made her claims about trips to a BBC show, Jones' crew obviously thought she was mistaken, according to an email he sent to MWT
The subject 'she was right' in this email exchange between Jones and his researcher Hannah L, implies ward had named the show.
This IMDB info no longer exists by the way !
Jones was on the BBC show trail from the very beginning of his scheme to destroy Jimmy Savile. His October 31st pitch to his boss included this exceprt from Ward's web-memoir
She didn't want a law-suit the irony of those words now, especially as one reads on
On 17th November Hannah requests as many copies of the show from the BBC library
But, look closely guys and gals. Someone has beat Hannah to it someone called 'Adam McClean from Objective productions'. Naturally, I looked him and his company up. Now, WHY would a production assistant who works for ITV be taking stuff out of the BBC library ? (correction below) Better still, why was he allowed to do this ? Especially when a BBC employee (Hannah) is concerned that her requests might seem suspicious !
But, best of all guys and gals, Hannah finds R1 (Ward) and R4 on one of the tapes

We know Ward is in the habit of taking a year or two of her and her tv studio pals' ages, but if one looks hard enough for long enough, she forgets herself and comes clean ish !
She's talking about the girl allegedly having sex with Gary Glitter in this room full of people. Someone she later claims to have been 14 or younger !
Look again at the email Jones sent MWT on 19th November 2011. What do you make of it ? What hides behind those blacked out words ? Hannah only told him the day before, that one show features Gary Glitter so he must have looked it up on the IMDB site too !

There's no point in Clicking the seat belt if you don't CLUNK the car door first ! But, this is obvious I hear you say, but hang fire guys and gals because something clicked into place for me last night, when I thought again about Jones' tweet mentioning, for the first time ever, Karin Ward's date of birth.
His answers form part Liz Mackean's timeline wherein both he and MacKean confirmed that they had given evidence at the libel trial

Click, had Jones only found out Ward's actual age in court, or had he known it all along ? Remember, he quite clearly states, 'from memory' BUT, I'm not convinced by his sudden recollection especially when you see how specific he is about the 'broadcast date' which, as far as I know is wrong by the way !
Things take an even moor sinister tone when one considers a tweet he made on 23rd March, the second day of the hearing
But 'starr and glitter' weren't 'on an episode' were they ? Re-reading Liz' timeline again, something else jumped out at me as Jones reveals his source in terms of information about the show itself, according to him that is
We'll know more when the Judge's decision and/or the full details of who said what on the stand at the High Court. Until then, I'm just examining Jones' statements on social media and coming to the conclusion that they just don't stack up ! Or maybe they do !
We know that the episode featuring GG was broadcast on 16th March 1974 but we cannot be sure WHEN it was recorded. We KNOW that the then girls attended at least two of these shows. And we KNOW that expense payments were made to three girls PRIOR to 18th April 1974. Thanks to a FOI request that is
Sorry it's not very clear but that does say programme and that does say £10 each total amount £30 ! But, didn't Jenni Hooker say that there were at least 5 girls who used to go to the show ?
Was this £30 claimed as expenses for just three girls because they actually appeared on the show ? That is, they sat on the bean bags ? And if so, during which episode ? Much has been made of these payments by the press and other so-called writer's who haven't bothered to check the facts either
I did find the following comment quite amusing as it happens
Dan Davies the man who according to Fleet Street, knew Savile better than anyone, covered this in his book in a few paragraphs suggests that, whoever mentioned these payments was someone else NOT Karin Ward
Little did the Daily Express know how much of a favour they did us 'Savile deniers' when they made that Freedom of Information request. Because, like that that spawned the transcripts of Jimmy's Police interview in 2009, these files contains so mant FACTS that no-one in the msm, appears to want to know. Facts such as this ! The date the last ever episode of Clunk Click was broadcast, Jimmy was in Scotland doing what he did best, raising money for good causes. He even donated his £15 fee for taking part in this sponsored walk.
Now, "Clunk the car door and CLICK the seat belt " because our journey in pursuit of the truth is not over, not by a long chalk, as it happens !
Goodness gracious me ! How hard it is to ascertain the actual date Freddie Starr appeared on Clunk Click. We know when Gary Glitter guested, that was March 16th 1974
But, no trace of the date of Freddie's appearance until this footage just happened to emerge the day Freddie denied being the 'third man' in Savile's dressing room !
Now, guys and gals, here's where things get interesting as one considers this question ! How many media reports appear to place Freddie Starr in the SAME room on the SAME night Gary Glitter appeared ? Turn that question around, how many reports stressed the FACT that they were NOT ? My answer will be, NOT MANY. Freddie Starr certainly felt that at the very least, he was being associated with the convicted Gary and the media convicted dead Savile. Hence his hasty denial
Now, let's get back to the damage Ward caused when she said she was, amongst other things, 14 the night she attended that show. Because she did actually SAY THIS, I finally found these words coming out of her mouth in her Newsnight interview with Liz Mackean on Novemeber 14th 2011.
"I was fourteen, of course I wanted to go to Television centre"
This interview was broadcast on Panorama who like, Meirion Jones did NOT bother to check whether Ms Ward was telling the truth about her age. OR DID THEY ?
Whilst burrowing I came across some old blog posts by Moor Larkin, one of his many bests. I urge you all to read this, it is quite shocking because of what we know now of how Freddie Starr was basically set up by the press and media in October 2012.
