But, here's something we do know for certain, he was a constable in 1997 and part of a team that arrested this man
Stark had come to St John's in 1995 a year before his previous school, St Paul's in Sussex became entangled in it's own child sex abuse scandal.
For some reason, Surrey Police in 1997 hadn't asked Sussex any questions about the 1996 case, although the latter did confirm that Stark was not in any way involved.

Post exposure, Thomas bragged about the Stark case as being one of the two most important moments in his Police career, the other one being Jonathan King ! Wikipedia has him leading the investigation ! Stranger still, Thomas appears to have briefed his local press about the case, hardly a role normally associated with an ordinary constable.
'worst examples .. ' or not, Stark was well thought of at the school, very well thought of as it happens, and his charges ? apparently just three !
It seems Surrey Police had been concerned for his welfare at the time of his death issuing an appeal, how things change !

The time Jones says he was discussing Savile with the ex-police constable whilst working on this film.
But, what's even more interesting is the fact that a certain law firm has already won £30,000 damages in 2011 after a choir master is convicted in 2009. The school ? St Paul's Cathedral School, and the lawyer pursuing the civil case ? Yes, it's her guys and gals
No bleating about 'closure' back then, it's all trauma and ongoing counseling for this poor man

'not a shred of credible evidence' ? Of course we are talking about claims of alleged MURDER'S here, a step too far along the merry road to Salem ! Especially when those claims involve the living AND a dead Prime Minister who obviously never did anything criminal to anyone !
Yep, those with power have perhaps, hopefully ? decided enough is enough. But, will anyone at the Daily Mail or Scotland Yard show the same courtesy to a dead philanthropist and ordinary boy made good ? Sadly, the article features MWT who, in recent weeks, appears to have altered his witch finder general policy and now excludes CERTAIN alleged abusers !
MWT comment is of course, quite ridiculous given the fact that he presented a television program FULL of 'unsubstantiated' allegations against Sir Jimmy Savile, thereby unleashing the unjust and immoral scourge that is/was Operation Yewtree and it's numerous 'strands' and offshoots !
BUT, read the blue appended article guys and gals. Could it be that the Savile language/narrative is changing ? Just months ago this 'former BBC host' was, at best, a 'pervert' ! Are the msm gods starting to look a little more kindly on our boy, or are they merely hedging their bets, in case the wind blows backwards ? Let's wait and see shall we ?
We shall see ! In the meantime guys and gals, enjoy the in-fighting, back-stabbing and general mayhem now being played out both on and off-line ! But spare a thought for the innocent who have died as a result of this immoral campaign. Made all the worse with the knowledge that we've been here so many times before. Ordinary folks lives ruined because someone accuses them of a crime they did NOT commit and some corrupt police officer's LEAK that information to the press. How things change in the matter of a few short years guys and gals. In 2007, the Police were well aware that information could be leaked to the media, so they developed a stratergy of how to respond 'if asked'. Amazingly, throughout the life of Operation Ornament (the investigation of claims made against Savile 2007/9) nobody did 'ask' !
NO ONE ! A big well done to Surrey Police for that ! Especially when you factor in just how many forces, organisations and individuals will have been aware of this Police investigation at the time !

Fast forward to December 2011 and MWT's formal entrance to the story.
Early December ? Hadn't he been on the payroll since November 4th or thereabouts ? Whatever, my point being that the sturdy blue line was still holding up.

And then, it broke ! Or should I say it was broken, not by the boys who held a line, that up until October 2012, protected us all from intrusive and insensitive media reporting. No. the Police chiefs, CPS and the then DPP, all now had their act together. An investigation that had been conducted fairly over two years, was to be investigated itself, and 'we now know' what that led to don't we ?
But, what was Keir Starmer, ACPO (association of Police chiefs) and,come to think of it, the media, doing between February and August of 2012 ? I may have answered this question already guys and gals ! After all, all the puppet masters appeared to be in place by October 3rd 2012. All they needed by then were a few more ornaments to go with the one or two dusted off by Meirion Jones etc a year before (Karin and Fiona)

I've been down this road many times and it's always the same. Everyone knew nothing ! Here's what Jeremy Paxman thought he 'knew' about Savile
Mr Paxman 'knew' something for definite though guys and gals. He 'knew' what Meirion Jones was up to in November 2011
Fair enough, Paxman was, after all, the main face of Newsnight, along with Kirsty Wark who also knew about the investigation (see individual statements Pollard) But, now here's a thing, how did MWT come into the picture ? His first contact appears to have taken place around the 4th November 2011.
Jones wanted Thomas because of his contacts in Surrey Police. he was a 'good route in'. Was this how Jones' crew acquired that 'off the record' confirmation that Savile had been the subject of a Police investigation in 2007 ?
And, if this 'off the record' information did come from the Police, why didn't the source confirm the outcome of that investigation ? Something was going on between these men and Surrey Police and/or the CPS around this time because by 5th December the latter provided the hacks with a statement that, I for one have NOT been able to locate anywhere. So where is it ?
Where's the question ? It's not in the report ? And where's the full statement ? This is just an info-sharing email between him and his team, including MWT 'Mark-Williams-Thomas' that is.
So, guys and gals, here we are in early December 2011, a whole ten months before ITV broadcast 'The other side of Jimmy Savile' and so far we have quite a few people both in and outside the BBC who are aware of this investigation. MWT was not employed by the BBC at the time so Jones describes Thomas' input as a paid consultant
Later, he tells Pollard, Thomas was brought on-board for very different reasons altogether
' .. well placed to - ... ' ? Obtain 'off the record' information perhaps ? After all, up to this point, Thomas doesn't appear to have brought expertise to the party does he ?
Pollard wants to know how long Jones has known Thomas, more importantly, how long the latter has known about Jones' investigation. Jones' answer shows he's either being deliberately evasive or his memory of who contacted who, and when, is decidedly poor

So, now things get even better on the WHO KNEW front. MWT is not a man you would expect to keep quiet about such a huge story if his post Exposure behaviour is anything to go by. But then, he'd never heard anything about Savile before that 'in-depth' conversation in the summer of 2011. Another one who never knew anything despite all those years leading investigations or was it, answering the phone) for Surrey Police ?
